Stampede Pull Out Late Win, 7-6
|
The Lubbock Stampede defeated the Quebec Aces, 7-6, in 10 innings. Aaron Foster led the way, going 3-for-6 for Lubbock. Lubbock's record now stands at 37-46, placing them last in the Stars Conference West Division.
In the top of the tenth, Lubbock got a clutch hit from Craig Nichelson. The second baseman belted a solo home run, putting the Stampede up, 7-6. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a decisive one.
Stampede manager William Maysonet wasn't all too pleased, despite the win, telling reporters that the performance highlighted some clear areas for improvement moving forward. He refused to be more specific, however. "I'm not gonna publicize our weaknesses," he said. "That stuff stays in the clubhouse."
