Mad Ants Rally Late to Nip Lasers
|
Eric Zane never let Nashville get something going. The Portland right-hander commanded his fastball in pitching the Mad Ants to a 2-1 win. Portland sits in third place in the Stars Conference West Division at 40-44.
Portland took advantage of an error in the bottom of the eighth inning. The game was tied, 1-1, when Josh Kelly hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put the Mad Ants in front, 2-1.
"Eric did a good job keeping the game under control," said Portland manager Will Berman.
