The Hartford Matadors and Portland Mad Ants put on a pitchers' duel.

The Hartford Matadors claimed a close win over the Portland Mad Ants, due in large part to Manuel Angloma. The Hartford left-hander pitched a great game to secure the 2-0 win. Vinny Padilla notched his 4th save of the season.

Angloma confounded Portland hitters. Over 7.1 innings, he allowed no runs on 2 hits.

"Manuel really held it together well," said Hartford manager Jesse Heugly.

The Stars Conference West Division-leading Matadors are 54-27.
