Royals Collect 10-4 Win Over Tailgators
|
The Montreal Royals outlasted the Chesapeake Tailgators, 10-4, in 10 innings. Montreal second baseman Dwayne Cook stood out with his performance. He was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. The Royals lead the Stars Conference East Division by 5 games.
Montreal used a timely hit from Ryan Compton to get the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to put the Royals ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Montreal skipper Bobby White.
