The Portland Mad Ants picked up a win at Mad Ants Ballpark, topping the Lubbock Stampede, 4-2. On the mound for Portland was left-hander Dane Roberts. He played a principal role in the triumph. Lubbock has now lost 16 in a row.

In the bottom of the second inning, the Mad Ants grabbed the lead when Travis Starkey rapped a two-out single. Portland was trailing 1-0, when Starkey hit a 2-run single off Willie Trevino to put his team in front, 2-1.

"Dane did what Dane does," said Portland manager Efren Nieman.
