Slumping Stampede Lose Again
Lubbock first baseman Aaron Foster had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Foster went 1-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 3, even as Portland beat the Stampede, 8-4. Pete Mead closed it out for Portland, earning his 20th save. The slumping Stampede have lost 15 straight.

The Mad Ants got an important contribution from first baseman Travis Starkey, who in the bottom of the second knocked a 0-1 fastball to right for a grand slam home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Mad Ants ahead, 5-0.

"No one likes losing," said Lubbock manager William Maysonet. "But we'll turn this thing around."
