The El Paso Chupacabras knocked off the Laredo Ghosts, 5-4, at Chupacabras Stadium. Bobby Tschida was a big reason El Paso won. The shortstop went 1 for 2 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Mike Heustess got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2.2 innings. The Chupacabras raised their record to 38-38.
Tschida contributed in the bottom of the fourth. With runners on 1st and 3rd, he hit a 3-run home run. It was one at-bat among others that helped El Paso get the win.
"We had situations where we should have got some runs in, but we didn't get the runs in," said losing manager Josh Miller.
