Not everyone stuck through the 103-minute rain delay, but those who did went home happy.

The Hartford Matadors weathered an outstanding game by Quebec designated hitter Juan Ortega to topple the Aces, 7-6. Ortega was 2 for 5 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. The win for the Matadors lifted their record to 47-29.

Hartford took a 7-6 lead on Willie Kirkham's 2nd triple of the season. The run-scoring triple, which Kirkham hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Quebec pitcher Josh McQuaid visibly frustrated.

"In this profession, you've got to put the good and the bad behind you quickly," Quebec skipper Matt Blade said.
