Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Portland Mad Ants and Little Rock Governors.

The Portland Mad Ants beat the Little Rock Governors, 6-4. Portland pitcher and Barahona, Dominican Republic, native Luis Alcoser led the way. Alcoser picked up the win for Portland, going 7 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 6-5. Rich Wilkinson, credited with the save, is now 17 for 18 in save opportunities.

Had Jerry Blake not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Blake hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Mad Ants.

Portland manager Efren Nieman commended his team for exhibiting "no shortage of effort."
