Tailgators Drop Close One Late
|
The Laredo Ghosts did just enough to sneak past the Chesapeake Tailgators, 6-5, at Ghosts Ballpark. Laredo pitcher Nelson Martinez, in particular, had a standout performance. The win belonged to Butch Saulters in relief. His record improves to 4-3. Eric Sawyer took the loss for Chesapeake. With the victory, the Ghosts record stands at 41-34.
Skyler Swan was the walk-off hero for Laredo. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Ghosts center fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"Put a star next to this win," Swan said.
