Nashville Slaps 5-1 Loss on Portland
|
Nashville took on Portland in front of a lively crowd.
Nashville pitcher Jaden Melrose did his part in helping his team beat the Portland Mad Ants, 5-1. The left-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. The Lasers lead the Stars Conference East Division by 6 games.
Nashville used the timely hitting of Lee Peck to capture the win. The center fielder socked a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Lasers ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"We've got a great group of guys," Melrose said, "and we're having fun right now."
