Lasers Handle Tailgators, 4-1

Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Nashville Lasers and Chesapeake Tailgators.
Matt Pfluger imposed his will on the Tailgators from the get-go. Relying mainly on his fastball, the right-hander spearheaded the 4-1 Nashville triumph. The win went to John Shannon in relief. His record improves to 2-2. Chris Mueller took the loss. David Caldwell closed the door for Nashville, picking up his 1st save of the year.
Nashville went in front, 3-1, on Greg Marston's 3rd home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Marston hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Chesapeake pitcher Humberto Lopez visibly perturbed.
Nashville manager Kenny McElhaney praised his team's "energy."
Nashville now has a record of 41-30 with the win.
