Lubbock Keeps Spiraling Downward
The Montreal Royals picked up a win at Turtles Ballpark, knocking off the Lubbock Stampede, 4-2. On the mound for Montreal was right-hander Stephen Stride. He played a key role in the triumph. Montreal leads the Stars Conference East Division by 4½ games.

The Royals got a big at-bat from shortstop Jose Fontes. For the game, Fontes was 2-4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 3rd double of the season gave Montreal a 2-0 lead.

"It was a good effort all around," said Fontes.
