The Joilet Jesters picked up a win at Ballpark of Joilet, downing the Portland Mad Ants, 7-2. On the mound for Joilet was right-hander Matt Schmid, who played a pivotal role in the win. With the win, the Jesters hiked their record to 37-34.

Tied up with the Mad Ants in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Jesters got a boost from first baseman Kyle Macrina. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Macrina saw a 2-2 curveball from Jaheim Jennings and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Joilet on top, 2-1.

Said losing manager Will Berman: "The at-bats, obviously, needed to be better."
