The Portland Mad Ants used the hitting of right fielder Timmy Coenen to subdue the Joilet Jesters, 8-3. For the game, Coenen went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs. Portland is third in the Stars Conference West Division with a record of 38-32.

Portland used the timely hitting of Felipe Hinojos to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Mad Ants on top, 6-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"There's never a lack of effort in our clubhouse. We're willing to do the little things to get the win," Hinojos told the Portland Herald.
