The Montreal Royals beat the Hartford Matadors, 11-0, at Turtles Ballpark. Montreal left fielder Sam Salas led the way. He went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Alec Wright was the winning pitcher. Over 6.1 innings, he allowed no runs on 3 hits, with 1 walk and 8 strikeouts. The Royals go to 28-43 with the win.
With Montreal leading 1-0 in the bottom of the fifth, Salas batted against Hartford pitcher Jason Phillips. Salas hit a slider to right-center for a 2-run double. His 8th double of the season put the Royals on top, 3-0.
"I'm just looking to see the ball, hit the ball," said Salas.
