The Montreal Canadiens defeated the El Paso Chupacabras, 6-3, at Oilers Ballpark. Montreal was led by 26-year old left fielder Jared Staley, who went 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Sergio Vera earned the win for Montreal. He lasted 5.1 innings, allowing 3 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 6. With the win, he raised his record to 3-6. Earning his 1st save for Montreal was Julio Matias.

Staley contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Montreal in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 3-2, Staley took a fastball from Lorenzo Villarreal and stroked the home run to left-center. His 7th home run of the season allowed the Canadiens to leap in front, 5-3.
