The Little Rock Governors topped the Lubbock Stampede by a score of 8-2. Leading the way was right fielder Johnny Dantzler. Dantzler was 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once for the Governors. Matt Rector got the win, improving to 6-3. He held the Stampede to 2 runs on 3 hits over 7 innings, while striking out 2 and walking 5. Bill Avery got the save, the 3rd for him this season.
Dantzler had an important at-bat with a runner on 1st in the top of the sixth, when he hit a 2-run home run. The Governors went on to win.
