The Laredo Ghosts picked up a win at Ghosts Ballpark, taking down the Nashville Lasers, 5-4. Starting pitcher Rick Winkler was a big reason why. In 6 innings, Winkler surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 9 and walking 0. He allowed 1 run. Mike Revell closed it out for his 8th save.
Tied up with the Lasers in the bottom of the fourth inning, the Ghosts got a boost from third baseman Corey Pryor. With the bases loaded, Pryor saw a 1-2 curveball from John Jones and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Laredo on top, 2-1.
Pryor said his team "played with a purpose."
The Ghosts raised their record to 35-34.
