Jesters Slap 3-0 Loss on Lubbock
|
Joilet picked up a win at Reagor Dykes Stadium, bumping off the Lubbock Stampede, 3-0. Pitcher Jimmy DeMoss was a major reason the Jesters emerged victorious. Getting the save was Matt Schmid, his 13th. Joilet is now 36-31, while Lubbock is 42-25.
The Stampede had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Jesters going into the top of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 26-year old left fielder Zach Williard came to the plate. Williard hit a 2-run triple on a 0-1 changeup from Lubbock hurler Brad Bixby. It was Williard's 1st triple of the year.
"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," DeMoss told the Joilet Daily.
