Laredo got a valiant performance from pitcher Jonathan Johnson, but it wasn't enough to beat the Chesapeake Tailgators. Chesapeake won the game, 3-2. Johnson threw 8.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. Nick Douglass finished to wrap up his 8th save. Chesapeake has run its win streak to 4 consecutive.

Chesapeake used the clutch hitting of Juan Conde to snag the win. The designated hitter drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Tailgators ahead, 3-2. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.

"I like to keep things lively in the clubhouse," said Conde. "Believe me, it's much easier after a win."
