Marshalls Win Nail-Biter
|
The Fremont Marshalls electrified the home crowd with a walk-off win.
Behind the hitting of Chris Quinton, the Fremont Marshalls stopped the Hartford Matadors, 5-4, in 11 innings. Quinton was 3-6 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Marshalls. The win went to Stuart Taylor in relief. His record improves to 3-1. Jeremy Carter took the loss.
Quinton delivered in the clutch for Fremont. In the bottom of the 11th, he took a 2-1 fastball from Hartford pitcher Jeremy Carter and parked it over the fence. The solo home run won it for Fremont.
"I like seeing our guys get a return on what they've put in," said Fremont manager Matt Blade.
The Marshalls, at 46-23, sit in first place in the Stars Conference West Division.
