The Laredo Ghosts defeated the Lubbock Stampede, 5-3, in Stars Conference action at Ghosts Ballpark. Laredo pitcher John Brown had a standout performance. Bill Reno finished to wrap up his 17th save. The Stampede have now dropped 5 straight.

Corey Pryor had a big 2-run double for the Ghosts in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Laredo leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a curveball from 22-year old right-handed pitcher Vicente Perez and swatted a double to left. It was his 6th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Ghosts ahead, 3-0.

"We ground out the win," said Pryor. "That's all that matters."
