Hartford Hangs 7-5 Loss on Glendale
The Hartford Matadors topped the Glendale Muskies, 7-5, with shortstop Willie West playing a big role. West went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Matadors in the win. Ricky Garay, the winning pitcher, improved to 3-2. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 10 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 4 and walking 1. With the win, Hartford goes to 30-34, while the Muskies fall to 27-37.

The Muskies had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Matadors going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 22-year old shortstop Andrew Flynn came to the plate. Flynn hit a run-scoring triple on a 1-0 sinker from Glendale hurler Dustin Abbott. It was Flynn's 1st triple of the year.

"See ball, hit ball. When I think too much, that's when I get in trouble," West told the Hartford Citizen.
