The Fremont Marshalls had to overcome a good performance from Portland pitcher Jaheim Jennings to claim a 2-1 win at Mad Ants Ballpark. Jennings went 7.2 innings and allowed 2 runs. Jon Kwait picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 4-0. Jaheim Jennings suffered the loss. The save went to Jonathan Reeher, number 16 for him.

Chris Dietel had a direct impact on the outcome. Dietel contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put Fremont up, 2-1.

"We had the right guys up at the right times," said Portland manager Will Berman. "We just didn't cash in."

With the win, Fremont goes to 43-23, while the Mad Ants fall to 36-30.
