Thanks in large part to center fielder Skyler Swan, the Laredo Ghosts beat the Portland Mad Ants, 11-4. Swan was 1 for 4 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. The Laredo winning streak has reached 3 games.
Swan contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Laredo in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 4-2, Swan took a fastball from Brandon Watts and stroked the home run to right-center. His 8th home run of the season allowed the Ghosts to leap in front, 6-4.
"Every manager loves to see an offensive outburst from his team," said Laredo skipper Josh Miller.
