A good performance from center fielder Tyler Reese helped the Lubbock Stampede defeat the Hartford Matadors, 9-5. Reese was 4-5 with a triple, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 2 for the Stampede. The Stampede, now 41-23, have won 4 in a row.

With Lubbock leading 5-3 in the top of the seventh, Reese batted against Hartford pitcher Terry May. Reese hit a changeup to right for a 2-run triple. His 7th triple of the season put the Stampede on top, 7-3.
