Chupacabras Come Up Short at Chesapeake, 4-3
|
El Paso left fielder Gustavo Orozco had a good game, even if his team did not. The Chupacabras dropped a 4-3 decision to Chesapeake at Tailgators Ballpark. Orozco went 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs. Chesapeake pitcher Rick Gregg earned the win, hiking his record to 1-2. Marc Manis suffered the loss. Chesapeake sits in 4th place in the Stars Conference East Division at 30-34.
Richard Ulmer had a big 2-run home run for the Tailgators in the bottom of the first inning. With Chesapeake trailing 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a fastball from 23-year old left-handed pitcher Marc Manis and punished it. The result was his 5th home run of the season, which put the Tailgators on top, 2-1.
"It feels good to get this one," Ulmer told the Chesapeake News.
