Win Goes to Marshals in Tight Contest
The Baxter Springs Marshals took on the Montreal Royals at Marshals Ballpark.

Despite a great performance by Montreal right fielder Brian Hendrix, the Baxter Springs Marshals defeated the Royals by the score of 7-4 at Marshals Ballpark. Hendrix was 4-4 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Baxter Springs reliever Gordie Clifford picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Ryan Warren absorbed the loss.

An inflection point occurred with two out in the bottom of the eighth. That's when Marshals shortstop Johnny Pullam hit a changeup from Ryan Warren for a 2-run single. Just like that, Baxter Springs was up, 4-3.

"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Pullam said after the game.

The win hiked the Baxter Springs record to 44-21.
