Matadors Stay Hot With 6-3 Win
The Hartford Matadors had to overcome a big game from Chesapeake right fielder Jason Leuci to leave Tailgators Ballpark with a victory. And they did, winning, 6-3. Leuci went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Andrew Severson, who is tied for 10th in the SC with a 2.60 ERA, was the winning pitcher. Over 5.2 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 7 hits, with 3 walks and 6 strikeouts. Mario Ruiz picked up the save for Hartford, his 16th of the year.

Hartford designated hitter Pat Anderson made an impact. He drilled a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth. In the contest, Anderson went 2-5 with 2 singles.

"I like seeing our guys get a return on what they've put in," said Hartford manager Jesse Heugly.

The Matadors have now reeled off 7 straight wins.
