El Paso Carves Out 4-2 Win
|
The El Paso Chupacabras converted a terrific effort from starter Jesus Fernandez into a win over the Joilet Jesters at Chupacabras Stadium. The Chupacabras won the game by a final score of 4-2. The Chupacabras, at 35-28, sit in third place in the Stars Conference West Division.
Had Frank Lewis not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Lewis hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Chupacabras.
"Jesus knows how to get ahead of hitters, stay ahead of hitters, and put people out," said El Paso manager William Maysonet.
