Portland used a superb performance from starting pitcher Oscar Orduno to down the Lubbock Stampede, 2-0. The victory gives Portland a record of 37-26.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Mad Ants had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fourth, when left fielder Timmy Coenen hit a 2-run single. The single came off Stephen Stride and made the score 2-0, Mad Ants. Coenen went 1 for 3, while adding 2 RBI.

In postgame remarks, Coenen applauded his team's "toughness."
