Phillips Powers Chupacabras to 4-2 Win
The El Paso Chupacabras handed the Portland Mad Ants a 4-2 defeat at Chupacabras Stadium. Left Fielder Brian Phillips starred for El Paso. He was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. El Paso reliever Gabe Calloway was the winner. His record is now 7-5. John Sherline took the loss. El Paso is now 32-29, while Portland is 27-34.

Phillips had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a first pitch fastball from John Sherline, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Chupacabras a 4-2 lead. It was the 16th home run of the year for Phillips.

"I'm trying to see the ball big, see the ball up in the zone and put the barrel on it," Phillips told the El Paso Today.
