Hartford picked up a win at Ballpark of Tacoma, bumping off the Laredo Ghosts, 4-1. Pitcher Jeff Mitchell was a major reason the Matadors emerged victorious. Hartford, at 39-22, is 3½ games up in the Stars Conference West Division.

Roy Blaylock had a key at-bat with one out in the bottom of the fifth for Hartford. With the bases loaded and the Matadors leading 2-1, he hit a sacrifice fly.

"We believe in ourselves and we're willing to work hard. It's a good combination," Blaylock told the Hartford Times.
