The Lubbock Stampede scooped up a win at Reagor Dykes Stadium, dumping the Portland Mad Ants, 3-2. Brad Bixby, who is tied for 3rd in the SC in wins with 6, was essential to his team's success. Rick Ways wrapped it up, recording his 12th save. Lubbock has a record of 39-23, placing them second in the Stars Conference West Division.

In the bottom of the sixth, Lubbock left fielder Preston Otte put his team on top. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit his 1st home run of the year. Portland pitcher Casey Danis served it up. Just like that, the Stampede were ahead, 3-2.

"Brad was hitting his spots and everything had life," said Lubbock manager William Maysonet.
