Jesters Earn 3-2 Win Versus Aces
|
Both offenses were relatively subdued at Belmont Park. Fortunately for the Joilet Jesters, though, Jon Fritz was able to deliver in the clutch. He went 4 for 4 with a home run and 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once, to lead his team past the Quebec Aces, 3-2. Garrett Nance snagged the win in relief. He goes to 3-0 on the season. Ken Bixby suffered the loss. After today's action, Joilet sits at 31-32; Quebec slips to 35-28.
Joilet used the timely hitting of Kyle Bailey to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Jesters on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Bailey attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."
