Lubbock and Nashville put this game in the books despite some rain.

Lubbock Stampede starter Vicente Perez turned in an exceptional performance against the Nashville Lasers at Reagor Dykes Stadium, resulting in a Lubbock win, 5-2. At 35-27, the Stampede are currently third in the Stars Conference West Division.

The Stampede got a big at-bat from left fielder Jesus Ruiz. For the game, Ruiz was 1-4 with a double. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 6th double of the season gave Lubbock a 1-0 lead.

"I like our moxie," said Stampede manager William Maysonet.
