Stampede Win, 9-5, Extend Streak to 4 Games
|
The Lubbock Stampede defeated the Glendale Muskies, 9-5, at Reagor Dykes Stadium. Lubbock was led by 22-year old shortstop Frank Lewis, who was 3-3 with 3 singles and 2 walks. He scored 3 times. Paul Garcia earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 3 innings. He upped his record to 2-1. Glendale has now lost 5 in a row.
First Baseman Jamie Dillard made an impact for Lubbock, when he swatted a 3-run home run off Dave Vondrasek in the bottom of the fourth. For the contest, Dillard was 1-1 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
"We came out aggressive," said Stampede manager William Maysonet. "We came out swinging the bats."
