Late Rally Gets Tailgators 3-1 Win
|
Chesapeake designated hitter Sean Williamson contributed significantly to his team's 3-1 win over the Baxter Springs Marshals. Williamson, who is tied for 8th in the SC in bases on balls with 33, went 2 for 4 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Tailgators. Chris Burton picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Brian White suffered the loss. The Tailgators sport a record of 24-35.
Ben Blake, who is tied for 5th in the SC with a .514 slugging percentage, had a direct impact on the outcome. Blake contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the ninth inning to put Chesapeake up, 2-1.
Blake called the win "a collective effort."
