Tailgators Earn 4-3 Win Versus Lasers
|
Chesapeake beat Nashville at Lasers Ballpark, escaping with a 4-3 win. The win in large part was due to left fielder Mike Johnson. He went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Armando Sanchez got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed no runs on 3 hits in 2.1 innings. The win makes Chesapeake 27-30.
Johnson had a timely hit for Chesapeake in the top of the eighth. With Chesapeake trailing 3-2, he turned a first pitch cutter into a 2-run home run. It was his 6th home run of the season, making it 4-3, Chesapeake.
"I keep on showing up every day and trying to put up good at-bats and find good pitches to hit," said Johnson.
