Royals 6-5 Winners Over El Paso
The El Paso Chupacabras could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Victor Figueroa into a win. Instead, the Montreal Royals prevailed, 6-5. Figueroa threw 5.0 innings of 4-hit ball. The winning pitcher was Ryan Warren. His record now stands at 6-2. The right-hander went 5.2 innings, allowing 4 runs on 8 hits for the Royals. The first-place Royals have won 6 straight games.

Jon Dearman had a big 3-run home run for the Royals in the bottom of the second inning. With Montreal leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a forkball from Victor Figueroa, who is tied for 4th in the SC in strikeouts with 70, and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Royals on top, 4-0.
