The Lubbock Stampede beat the Montreal Canadiens, 7-3, at Oilers Ballpark. The Stampede got a fine performance from left fielder Jesus Ruiz, who went 2 for 5 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Picking up the save was Gabe Calloway, his 4th. With the win, Lubbock goes to 30-25, while the Canadiens fall to 14-41.

Ethan Gatto came through with a big-time hit for Lubbock. The pinch hitter smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 5-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"Anytime you're seeing it well, it's a good feeling," Ruiz told the Lubbock News.
