Sam Naber never let the Royals get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his fastball, to pitch the Stampede to a win, 4-1. Lubbock currently is in second place in the Stars Conference West Division at 35-22.

Lubbock needed the clutch hitting of Joe Ortiz to seal the deal. The right fielder swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Stampede on top, 3-1. For the game, Ortiz had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
