Howard Hits Two Homers in 18-9 Win for Lubbock
Lubbock first baseman Steve Howard was instrumental in helping the Stampede triumph, 18-9, over the Montreal Canadiens. Howard was 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and 2 walks, while scoring 4 and driving in 4. Edgar Minero got the win, improving to 5-3. He worked 5.1 innings, giving up 5 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 3. Paul Garcia picked up the save for Lubbock, his 1st of the year.

Fred Hernandez, who is tied for 7th in the SC in bases on balls with 30, came through for Lubbock with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the first. The center fielder went 2 for 4 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 1 run and collected 3 runs batted in.
