Joilet wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Barry McLamb, falling to the Hartford Matadors, 6-3. McLamb threw 7.1 innings of shutout ball for the losing team. The win puts the Matadors at 33-20, while the Jesters drop to 25-28.

Hartford got a knockout punch from Andrew Flynn. The shortstop hammered a 3-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

"Pleased with the effort and the win," said Matadors manager Jesse Heugly.
