Mad Ants Snatch Late-Game, 5-4 Win
Joilet got a big-time effort from pitcher Greg Forness, but it wasn't enough to keep the Portland Mad Ants from winning the game, 5-4. Forness threw 7.2 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. Portland reliever George Robertson got the win, raising his record to 1-1. Andy Shoemaker was tagged with the loss. Portland has now won 5 straight.

The Mad Ants got a clutch hit from designated hitter Danny Bryson. In the bottom of the 13th, he hit a run-scoring single to center, to win the game for the Mad Ants.

"The ending was a real humdinger," Bryson told reporters after the game.
