Muskies Score Late to Beat Marshals, 3-2
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Glendale Muskies and the Baxter Springs Marshals, pitcher Dylan Diggs was the difference between victory and defeat. The Glendale left-hander earned kudos in the 3-2 Muskies win. John Landgren recorded the save, his 5th. Glendale now sits at 31-22, while Baxter Springs falls to 29-24.
The game was at a stalemate until left fielder Billy Totten came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Baxter Springs pitcher Jason Phillips, he hit a 2-1 forkball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Glendale on top, 3-2.
"I executed the game plan," said Diggs.
