Behind a fine performance from Brian Brewer, the Portland Mad Ants knocked off the Montreal Canadiens in 10 innings, 8-7. Brewer went 4-5 with 2 home runs and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Mad Ants. Portland reliever Brandon Smith was the winner. His record is now 2-1. The losing pitcher was Felix Marquez. The Mad Ants have now won 6 straight.

The decisive blow was delivered by Tom Hirsch in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a solo home run off 24-year old left-handed pitcher Felix Marquez to win the game for Portland. The home crowd went nuts.
