The Chesapeake Tailgators took on the Lubbock Stampede at Reagor Dykes Stadium.

The Chesapeake Tailgators thumped the Lubbock Stampede, 9-2, at Reagor Dykes Stadium. Ben Blake was a big reason his team got the win. Blake was 2 for 3 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Juan Millan was the winner. Over 6 innings, he yielded 2 runs on 7 hits, with 2 walks and 5 strikeouts. Jason Brokaw earned the save for Chesapeake, his 1st.

In the top of the second, the Tailgators took the lead, 3-1, when 25-year old first baseman Chris Dellinger hit a sacrifice fly.

"Do what you're good at," said Chesapeake manager Dave York. "That's all I ask of the team."

The third-place Stampede now sit at 28-25.
