Nashville 5-3 Losers to Mad Ants
|
Nashville got a terrific game from right fielder Ayden Huey. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Portland, 5-3. Huey was 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Matt Parsons was the winner. Over 6 innings, he yielded 2 runs on 9 hits, with no walks and 8 strikeouts. Portland is now 22-28, while Nashville is 30-20.
In the top of the second, Portland shortstop Mike Henschel had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Henschel stroked a run-scoring single to left. It made the score 1-0, Portland. For the game, he went 2-5 with 2 singles.
Portland manager Will Berman called it "a pretty good win."
