Portland Mad Ants starter Matt Parsons turned in a sparkling performance against the Glendale Muskies, leading his team to a 3-2 win. The winner in relief was Chase Collins. He is now 4-0. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. Gordie Clifford earned the save for Portland, his 12th of the year.

Had Tyler Welsh not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Welsh hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Mad Ants.

"We had the right guys up at the right times," said Glendale manager Jon Greenberg. "We just didn't cash in."

The third-place Mad Ants improved to 27-22.
