Gotch has 4 hits, Leads Ghosts to Win
|
The Laredo Ghosts defeated the Quebec Aces, 5-3, at Belmont Park. Laredo was led by 25-year old left fielder Ross Gotch, who was 4-4 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Laredo starter Andy Firkins was credited with the win after throwing 88 pitches over 5.1 innings. His record now stands at 3-3. Joe McLaughlin earned the save for Laredo, his 9th of the year.
Brian Hull had a key at-bat with two out in the top of the eighth for Laredo. With the bases loaded and the Ghosts leading 4-3, he got hit by a pitch, driving in 1 run.
"I really like what we did out there today," Gotch said after the game.
With the victory, the Ghosts upped their record to 25-22.
