Matadors Keep Streak Alive With 4-0 Win
Starting pitcher Jeff Mitchell fulfilled his part of the bargain, helping the Hartford Matadors stymie the Lubbock Stampede, 4-0. Kevin Delaney earned the save for Hartford. The Matadors bumped their record to 30-16 with this latest triumph.

Hartford right fielder Willie Kirkham contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 36th hit of the season and put the Matadors ahead, 3-0.

In postgame remarks, Kirkham hailed his team's "single-minded focus."
